John Sherman, Head Coach, Age Group Coach 15-18

John started swimming in rec when he was 6. He later moved to USS and enjoyed the sport immensely.
He has been a swim coach for 12 years? He has coached at all levels from rec to HS to USS to Collegiate.
He's a math teacher and swim coach at GBHS and spends most of his free time with his beautiful wife
Jenell and kids Ben, Heidi and Kate (very soon!) His specialty is helping others become fast, and he
loves coffee of all shapes and sizes.
Lauren Caines, Age Group Coach Speedy Sixers

Lauren swam from the ages of 5 to 20. She swam for the Sierra Marlins and ended her swimming at
Sierra College. Her favorite events were distance freestyle and IM. She loves to coach and see
kids succeed in the pool, which she currently does in the PAC Spring Clinic. Her favorite colors
are pink and turquoise. She is addicted to Starbucks and Chipotle.
Shelley MacLeane, Age Group Coach 7-8

Shelley started swimming rec, moved onto CCA then went on to swim at University of the Pacific.
Her specialty was backstroke and butterfly. She has a long coaching resume of 14 years and continues
her work with young people as a teacher at Ridgeview Elementary. She is married to water polo Guru,
John MacLeane and is a mother of two young Gators!
Kendal Twilling, Age Group Coach 9-10

Kendal swam from the ages of 5 to 20. She started in rec swimming with Loomis Basin, then swam
Sierra Marlins, GBHS, and finally at San Diego State. Her specialty was breaststroke, IM and
sprint free. She is currently coaching PAC Spring Clinic and GBHS Swim Team. Her favorite color
is lime green (gators caps!) and she loves Starbucks. "I enjoy coaching and helping kids improve
on strokes, dives, and racing strategy."
James Vigeant, Age Group Coach 11-12

James is an original GB Gator. He has been swimming since the age of 4 and has coached/aided the
Gators for 3 years. He is currently swimming for GBHS and his specialty is sprint free. On his
free time he likes to eat and surf. His favorite color is blue and he loves Chipotle and
all-you-can-eat Chinese food. "Swimming is a joy that I want to share with others!"
Brad Dawson, Age Group Coach 13-14

Brad has swam his entire life. He did rec swimming, then swam at GBHS for four years, and finished
up at Sierra College. His specialty was any sprint. He has coached for Johnson Ranch, Sugarbears,
Gators, GBHS and PAC. He loves to connect with swimmers through the team environment.
Maeghan Cobbin, Assistant Coach

Maeghan is an original GB Gator. She graduated from GBHS in 2007 and is currently swimming at Loyola
Marymount University. She has 10 years of swimming experience and her specialty is breaststroke.
She coached for the Gators last summer and aided for several years before that. She enjoys playing
volleyball, going to Disneyland and hanging out at the beach. Her favorite book is Harry Potter and
she loves the Disney channel.
